Isleworth Campus

Isleworth Campus – A tailored learning environment for growth and independence

Isleworth Campus

Located in the heart of Isleworth, the Isleworth Campus is the oldest site within Syon Manor College which currently supports a small cohort of 55 students with autism, offering a tailored, nurturing environment designed to meet a broad range of individual needs.

The Intent:

The campus is dedicated to preparing students for life beyond college by:

  • Equipping them with practical skills for daily living and independence, including personal care, communication, and social interaction.
  • Offering academic and vocational pathways tailored to each student’s abilities, from functional skills and GCSEs to practical qualifications.
  • Supporting emotional well-being and personal growth by building confidence, resilience, and strong relationships.
  • Providing opportunities for work-related learning, community participation, and future-focused development.

The implementation
Each student’s journey is shaped by their EHCP and personal goals. The curriculum is flexible and highly personalised, incorporating:

  • A variety of academic, vocational, and life-skills programmes, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, BTECs.
  • Diverse teaching methods, including adaptive technologies and community-based learning, to ensure accessibility and engagement.
  • Therapeutic support seamlessly integrated into daily routines, with clinicians on hand to address emotional and physical needs.
  • Small class sizes of 1 to 8 students, allowing for focused teaching and individualised learning.
  • Career-focused activities, including CV writing, job shadowing, and independent travel training, supported by a dedicated careers lead.

The Impact
The Isleworth Campus always tris to empower students to transition into further education, employment, or independent living with confidence. Students gain nationally recognised qualifications and develop the independence needed to thrive in their chosen pathways.

We believe that through our bespoke approach and comprehensive support, the Isleworth Campus ensures each student is equipped to reach their full potential, both during their time at college and beyond.

Key features of the Academic and Career Ready curriculum pathway include:

Individualised Support: Every student’s programme is aligned with their EHCP, ensuring personalised goals and progress tracking.

Academic Achievement: Students work towards qualifications such as Functional Skills, GCSEs, and A Levels, tailored to their abilities and aspirations.

Vocational Training: Opportunities to gain hands-on experience in horticulture, motor vehicle repair, hair and beauty, and more.

Career Preparation: Activities include CV writing, interview practice, work placements, and employability skills training.

Life Skills Development: A focus on communication, social interaction, personal care, and independent living skills.
